The monthly USTA Player Development Player and Coach Honor Roll recognizes the top performing young Americans and their coaches each month.

Here’s a look at some of the most outstanding performances turned in by American tennis players ages 20 and younger in September:

 

Emilio Nava (Dec. 2, 2001), Woodland Hills, Calif. – Boys’ singles finalist at the Grade A US Open Junior Tennis Championships in Flushing, N.Y. Coached by Xochitl Nava.

Alexandra Yepifanova (Mar. 2, 2003), Aventura, Fla. – Girls’ singles finalist at the Grade A US Open Junior Tennis Championships in Flushing, N.Y. 

Eliot Spizzirri (Dec. 23, 2001), Greenwich, Conn. – Boys’ doubles champion at the Grade A US Open Junior Tennis Championships in Flushing, N.Y. He is coached by Patrick Hirscht.

Tyler Zink (Jan. 30, 2001), Bradenton, Fla. – Boys’ doubles champion at the Grade A US Open Junior Tennis Championships in Flushing, N.Y. He is coached by George Zink.

Sophia Natalya Baranov (Aug. 15, 2001), Sunrise, Fla. – Girls’ singles finalist at the Grade 5 J5 Tblisi juniors event in Tblisi, Georgia.

Clervie Ngounoue (Jul. 19, 2006), Washington, D.C. – Girls’ singles and doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Lome juniors event in Lome, Togo. She is coached by Aime Ngounoue.

Rebecca Lynn (Sep. 19, 2004), Newport Beach, Calif. – Girls’ singles finalist at the Grade 4 J4 Stellenbosch juniors event in Stellenbosch, South Africa. 

Clervie Ngounoue (Jul. 19, 2006), Washington, D.C. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 4 J4 Lome juniors event in Lome, Togo. She is coached by Aime Ngounoue.

Aubrey Nisbet (Feb, 4, 2005), Wilmington, Del. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Montreal juniors event in Montreal, Canada. She is coached by Tom Gutteridge.

Sophie Williams (Feb. 18, 2004), Charleston, S.C. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Montreal juniors event in Montreal, Canada. She is coached by Robert Kendrick.

Andrea Le (May 2, 2003), Houston, Texas – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 San Pedro Sula juniors event in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She is coached by Michael Russell and Peter Lundgren.

Teja Tirunelveli (Oct. 22, 2004), Edmond, Okla. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 San Pedro Sula juniors event in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She is coached by Todd Papa.

Andrew Dale (Nov. 1, 2001), Leesburg, Va. – Boys’ singles finalist at the Grade 2 J2 Montreal juniors event in Montreal, Canada. Coached by Bear Schofield. 

Valencia Xu (Jul. 5, 2003), Livingston, N.J. – Girls’ singles champion at the Grade 2 J2 Montreal juniors event in Montreal, Canada. She is coached by Gill Acosta.

Jenna DeFalco (Nov. 13, 2002), Tustin, Calif. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 2 J2 Montreal juniors event in Montreal, Canada. She is coached by Chris Tontz.

Azuma Visaya (Aug. 19, 2003), Honolulu, Hawaii – Boys’ singles and doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Bayamon juniors event in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She is coached by Edward Visaya.

Sam Scherer (May 1, 2004), Tarrytown, N.Y. – Boys’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Bayamon juniors event in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

Alexandra Centra (Dec. 19, 2002), Honolulu, Hawaii – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Bayamon juniors event in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She is coached by Andres Weisskopf and Kevin Fleck. 

Mary Stoiana (2003), Southbury, Conn. – Girls’ singles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Niagara juniors event in Lake Ontario, Canada. She is coached by Mary Stoiana.

Jennifer Kida (2002), Wilmington, Calif. – Girls’ singles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Hamilton juniors event in Hamilton, New Zealand. She is coached by Eph Walker. 

Jack Anthrop (Nov. 5, 2003), Orlando, Fla. – Boys’ singles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Austin juniors event in Austin, Texas. He is coached by Bryan Koniecko.

Hugo Hashimoto (Mar. 2, 2003), San Jose, Calif. – Boys’ singles finalist at the Grade 5 J5 Austin juniors event in Austin, Texas. He is coached by Nick Fustar.

Samir Banerjee (Oct. 2, 2003), Basking Ridge, N.J. – Boys’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Austin juniors event in Austin, Texas. He is coached by Matt Sabo.

Andrew Chang (May 5, 2003), Trophy Club, Texas – Boys’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Austin juniors event in Austin, Texas. He is coached by Dave Licker.

Leyden Games (Apr. 18, 2003), Irvine, Calif. – Girls’ singles finalist at the Grade 5 J5 Austin juniors event in Austin, Texas. He is coached by Adrian Games.

Reya Coe (2005), Mason, Texas – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Austin juniors event in Austin, Texas. She is coached by Greg Alexander.

Skylar Moody (2005), McKinney, Texas – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Austin juniors event in Austin, Texas. She is coached by Dave Licker.

Madeleine Jessup (Jul. 14, 2005), Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif. – Girls’ singles finalist at the Grade 3 J3 Sarawak juniors event in Sarawak, Malaysia. She is coached Michael Jessup.  

Usue Maitane Arconada (Oct. 28, 1998), Naples, Fla. – Women’s singles and doubles finalist at the Oracle WTA $125K Series event in New Haven, Conn. 

Sofia Kenin (Nov. 14, 1998), Pembroke Pines, Fla. – Women’s singles quarterfinalist at the Zhengzhou Open WTA Premier event in Zhengzhou, China. She is coached by Alex Kenin.

Alycia Parks (Dec. 31, 2000), Port Saint Lucie, Fla. – Women’s singles finalist at the ITF World Tennis Tour W25 event in Redding, Calif. She is coached by Mike Parks.

Vanessa Ong (Jan. 13, 2002), Oklahoma City, Okla. – Women’s singles champion at the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 event in Lawrence, Kan. She is coached by Trent Tucker.

Anastasia Nefedova (Jan. 11, 1999) – Women’s singles finalist at the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 event in Lawrence, Kan. 

Malkia Ngounoue (Aug. 8, 2000), Washington, D.C. – Women’s doubles champion at the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 event in Lawrence, Kan. She is coached by Todd Chapman.

Zachary Svajda (Nov. 29, 2002), San Diego, Calif. – Men’s doubles champion at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event in Champaign, Ill. 

Sofia Kenin (Nov. 14, 1998), Pembroke Pines, Fla. – Women’s singles champion at the Guangzhou Open WTA International event in Guangzhou, China. She is coached by Alex Kenin.

Dalayna Hewitt (Dec. 16, 2000), Pepper Pike, Ohio – Women’s singles finalist at the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 event in Lubbock, Texas. She is coached by Matt Howard.

Sofia Sewing (Jul. 22, 1999), Doral, Fla. – Women’s doubles champion at the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 event in Lubbock, Texas.

JJ Wolf (Dec. 12, 1998), Cincinnati, Ohio – Men’s singles finalist at the ATP Challenger 90 event in Columbus, Ohio. 

Oliver Crawford (Apr. 30, 1999), Spartanburg, S.C. – Men’s doubles champion at the ITF World Tennis Tour M25 event in Houston, Texas. He is coached by Kelly Jones.

Sam Riffice (Mar. 1, 1999), Sacramento, Calif. – Men’s doubles champion at the ITF World Tennis Tour M25 event in Houston, Texas. He is coached by Lori Riffice.
