The monthly USTA Player Development Player and Coach Honor Roll recognizes the top performing young Americans and their coaches each month.

Here’s a look at some of the most outstanding performances turned in by American tennis players ages 20 and younger in August:

 

Lauren Cooper (2001), Powell, Ohio – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 4 J4 Harare juniors event in Harare, Zimbabwe. 

Mia Slama (Mar. 14, 2006), Boca Raton, Fla. – Girls’ singles finalist at the Grade 5 J5 Castries juniors event in Castries, St. Lucia. She is coached by Marc Slama. 

Benjamin Kittay (Aug. 27, 2003), Potomac, Md. – Boys’ singles champion at the Grade 4 J4 Monterrey juniors event in Monterrey, Mexico. He is coached by Gary Kittay.

Sasha Wood (Jan. 28, 2002), Topsfield, Mass. – Girls’ singles champion at the Grade 4 J4 Monterrey juniors event in Monterrey, Mexico. She is coached by Francisco Montoya.

Lauren Cooper (2001), Powell, Ohio – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 4 J4 Mauritius juniors event in Phoenix, Mauritius.  

Alexander Kiefer (Dec. 25, 2001), The Woodlands, Texas – Boys’ doubles champion at the Grade 3 J3 Monterrey juniors event in Monterrey, Mexico. He is coached by Luis Nascimento.

Ava Catanzarite (2002), Franklin Park, Pa. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 3 J3 Monterrey juniors event in Monterrey, Mexico. She is coached by Raul and Rene Gomez.

Sasha Wood (Jan. 28, 2002), Topsfield, Mass. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 3 J3 Monterrey juniors event in Monterrey, Mexico. She is coached by Francisco Montoya.

Micah Braswell (Nov. 4, 2004), Sarasota, Fla. – Boys’ singles champion at the Grade 1 J1 College Park juniors event in College Park, Md. He is coached by Ty Braswell.

Robin Montgomery (Sep. 5, 2004), Washington, D.C. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 1 J1 College Park juniors event in College Park, Md. She is coached by Alisama Agnamba.

Ariel Johnson (Jul. 26, 2003), Coconut Creek, Fla. – Girls’ singles and doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Accra juniors event in Accra, Ghana. 

Hannah Smith (2003), Elkridge, Md. – Girls’ doubles champion at the Grade 5 J5 Accra juniors event in Accra, Ghana. She is coached by Gerard Loglo and Amie Ngounue.

Ellis Short (Jan. 1, 2016), Boca Raton, Fla. – Boys’ singles finalist at the Grade 5 J5 St. John’s juniors event in St. John’s, Barbuda. He is coached by Carlos Zapata.

Jennifer Kida (Aug. 23, 2002), Wilmington, Calif. – Girls’ singles champion at the Grade 5 J5 St. John’s juniors event in St. John’s, Barbuda. She is coached by Eph Walker.

Adit Sinha (Sep. 18, 2003), North Brunswick, N.J. – Boys’ singles finalist at the Grade 4 J4 Hyderabad juniors event in Hyderabad, India. He is coached by Michael Sroczynski.

Caty McNally (Nov. 20, 2001), Cincinnati, Ohio – Women’s singles semifinalist and doubles champion at the Citi Open WTA International event in Washington, D.C. She is coached by Kevin O’Neil.

Coco Gauff (Mar. 13, 2004), Atlanta, Ga. – Women’s doubles champion at the Citi Open WTA International event in Washington, D.C. She is coached by Corey Gauff.

Amanda Anisimova (Aug. 31, 2001), Freehold Township, N.J. – Women’s quarterfinalist at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic WTA Premier event in San Jose, Calif. 

Ann Li (Jun. 26, 2000), King of Prussia, Pa. – Women’s singles finalist at the ITF World Tennis Tour W60 event in Lexington, Ky. She is coached by Henner Nehles and Jay Devashetty.

Jenson Brooksby (Oct. 26, 2000), Sacramento, Calif. – Men’s singles champion at the ITF World Tennis Tour M25 event in Decatur, Ill. He is coached by Joseph Gilbert.

Sofia Kenin (Nov. 14, 1998), Pembroke Pines, Fla. – Women’s singles semifinalist at the Rogers Cup WTA Premier 5 event in Toronto, Canada. She is coached by Alex Kenin.
