Although she lost in the championship match on Sunday, Lauren Davis continued her outstanding summer by powering into her second final in two months at the WTA event in Quebec City, Canada.

Davis fell to Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin in an entertaining match on Court Banque Nationale, 6-4, 6-3. Both players were competing for their first WTA title. The American came through the qualifying draw and dropped just one set in six matches on her way to the final.

"I'm really happy with the way I've competed this week," said Davis to the WTA website after her semifinal win. "I've stayed healthy and I've really enjoyed myself. That's the most important thing."

Davis had also reached the final of the WTA event this July in Washington, D.C.

The 22-year-old is currently ranked No. 104 in the WTA rankings, but is projected to climb to around No. 85 when the newest standings are released on Monday.
