Sylvain Guichard - National Coach, Women's Tennis

Sylvain Guichard was hired on Feb. 14, 2011, as a National Coach, Women’s Tennis. In this role, he facilitates coaching and training programs to assist in the development of our best prospects at the USTA Training Centers as well as at other locations.
 
A native of France, Sylvain joined USTA Player Development following a three-year stint as Manager and Director of Coaching at The Racquet Club of Lake Bluff in Lake Bluff, Ill., where he helped Michael Redlicki capture the boys’ 16s singles titles at both the USTA National Clay Court Championships and USTA National Hard Court Championships in 2010.
 
Previously, Guichard spent 15 years in the men’s tennis program at Mississippi State University – first as a player, then as an assistant coach and finally as head coach from 2001-07. His teams participated in 14 NCAA Championships during that span, and Guichard was named the SEC Coach of the Year and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Region Coach of the Year in 2005.
