Leo Azevedo, Lead National Coach and Clay Court Specialist, started as a coach in Brazil in 2000, working with junior players. He then became a part of Equelite/J.C.Ferrero in Spain, where for three years, he coached juniors and pro players including Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and former world No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero. Azevedo aided the Brazil Davis Cup team and was the captain of the Brazilian Olympic team in 2008. He continued to develop players on the ATP World Tour, including Ricardo Mello, Falvio Saretta and Thomaz Bellucci before joining the USTA in May 2009.
