Geoffrey Russell- Manager, Player ID and Development

Geoffrey Russell is currently Manager of Talent ID and Development for the United States Tennis Association. Russell’s responsibilities with USTA involve the establishment of Regional Training Centers throughout the country. In establishing certified Regional Training Centers the USTA is partnering with proven developmental programs throughout the country to provide free and subsidized High Performance training for America’s best juniors. Regional Training Centers are also asked to have community outreach programs where they work with local schools to establish QuickStart programming. From 2009 to 2010 Russell was the Managing Director of USTA Central Arizona, a 501 (c)(3) organization. USTA Central Arizona worked with a dozen school districts, helping them establish after school programming that led to junior team tennis and tournaments for players 10 and under.
 
Prior to joining USTA Central Arizona, Russell was a mortgage broker for Morgan Financial, Inc. At Morgan Financial, Inc he was a top producer for the years 2008 and 2009.
 
A three-time Arizona state high school champion and top 20 national junior player in the USTA Boys 18’s division, Russell enjoyed a four-year Division I collegiate tennis career at the College of Williams and Mary, highlighted by All Colonial Athletic Conference Singles and Doubles First Team. He is ranked eighth all time in school history with 79 singles wins, and third in doubles with 91 wins.
 
After graduating from the College of William and Mary, Russell got involved with USTA Central Arizona as a volunteer. He served as President of the Board of Directors. At the same time he served as President of Central Arizona, he also was a member of the USTA Southwest Section Board of Directors. In 2009 he served on the USTA’s national Junior Competition Committee, where they worked on restructuring the national tournament schedule.
