Krista Hardebeck is one of the rising young stars of junior tennis. Now ranked No. 1 in the USTA Girls' 18s and a career-high 36th in the ITF World Junior Rankings, the 16-year-old from Santa Ana, Calif., has had an impressive year, highlighted by back-to-back wins at the USTA International Spring Championships and Easter Bowl in April. Hardebeck is taking time from her busy schedule to write a blog from this week's Dunlop Orange Bowl in Key Biscayne, Fla. Check back daily for updates.

Hey everyone!

Well, today was not very good at all. Unfortunately, I lost in both singles and doubles. :(

After I ate breakfast at the hotel cafe again, my friend Julia Elbaba and I went to the site to warm up. I felt like I was hitting pretty good, so I felt pretty confident in my match. However, once I started playing, it was a different story. The girl I was playing was a very good player, so I couldn't afford to make all of the mistakes that I made. I ended up losing, 5-7, 6-3, 3-6.

After I finished my match, Vicky Duval and I went to Subway for lunch, which really helped cheer me up. Once I got back to the site, Chanelle and I started getting ready for doubles. Once again, we felt pretty confident, but it just didn't work out in our favor. We lost, 6-4, 3-6, 8-10. Although Chanelle and I were both very disappointed, she invited me to spend the night over at her house with Kyle McPhillips. Even though it was a really rough day, I'm glad it could at least end in a fun way.

It always hurts to lose, but you know what they say...  you learn more from losing than from winning. So hopefully I can gain some useful knowledge to help improve my game for 2011.

So I would like to thank all of you who tuned in to my blogs, and I would like to apologize that I am unable to entertain you longer! But, anyways, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and good luck to all my friends who are still in!

Thanks for reading!
Love, Krista
