COLLEGIATE VARSITY TENNIS FOR AMERICAN PLAYERS
Collegiate Varsity Tennis is new to the USTA website. Junior & Collegiate Competition is a department of Player Development and our focus is to help junior players make the transition to collegiate varsity tennis. Collegiate tennis provides many opportunities for junior players academically, athletically and socially. Our college page will provide you with: an overview of preparing for tennis in college; links to numerous resources, the latest activities going on each month and collegiate spotlight features just to name a few. We are excited about our new web page and look forward to your feedback.

· 360,000 of 15 million students who enroll Nationally in NCAA American colleges and universities are student-athletes, not all are on scholarship.
· There are 15,000 NCAA college tennis players, not all are on scholarship
· Men’s Tennis teams in NCAA: DI 269; DII 166 and DIII 309
· Women’s Tennis teams in NCAA: DI 312; DII 210; DIII 358
· NAIA colleges offer 113 men’s teams and 133 women’s teams
· NJCAA colleges offer 84 men’s teams and 88 women’s teams

It is never too early to start planning for college. The following is a guide from the USTA to help student-athletes interested in playing collegiate varsity tennis understand the process. The more you know about the general process the more informed you will be when it comes to making one of the most important decisions of your life. There are academic scholarships, athletic scholarships and financial aid available. There are many opportunities to play collegiate tennis, the more research you do the more options you will have.
