John Devorss joined the USTA's national coaching staff in 2012 as the junior team captain and has served as the quad captain since 2013. Under his leadership, the quads have taken home world championships at World Team Cup in 2012, 2013 and 2015, and the junior team was a finalist under his helm in 2011.

Born and raised in Salem, Ore., Devorss is a USPTA-certified tennis professional and has been teaching at the Salem Tennis & Swim Club for close to two decades. He played NCAA Division I tennis at the University of Oregon from 1993-97, graduating with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

Devorss was named the 2016 USOC/USTA Paralympic Tennis Coach of the Year, and he was awarded the Order of Ikkos medal by the United States Olympic Committee in 2017 for his outstanding contributions to wheelchair tennis.
