Chris Herman has had a quick rise up the ranks of wheelchair tennis. The St. Petersburg, Fla., native began playing the sport at the age of 11, transitioned into tournament play at age 12 and, the following year, was representing Team USA internationally in World Team Cup competition.

Herman was a member of the U.S. boys' World Team Cup team from 2012-16 and helped Team USA capture back-to-back championships at the prestigious competition in 2015 and 2016. He graduated to the men's World Cup Team for the first time in 2017 and has represented the U.S. ever since.

Herman has been among the world's top wheelchair players in both the junior and men's divisions. In junior competition, he achieved a career-high ITF boys' ranking of No. 2 in 2016, and in men's play, he peaked at No. 43 in singles in 2017 and No. 57 in doubles in 2019.

Currently a junior at the University of Florida, where he is an economics major, he trains part-time at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
