Timon Corwinjoined the USTA as the Senior Director, Junior and Collegiate Competition for USTA Player Development in May 2007. In this role, Timon is charged with providing overall direction to the junior and college competition and training department.
Before joining the USTA Player Development staff in Boca Raton, Timon served as Athletic Director and head coach of the Kalamazoo College tennis team since 1993. His teams finished third or higher in the nation six times, including two national runner-up finishes (1997, 1999). Entering the 2007 season, Timon owned a career record of 248-109 (.695) overall and 71-1 (.986) in MIAA competition. He was named Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year in 1997 and Midwest Regional Coach of the Year in 1999. In addition to his collegiate tenure, Timon was the Tournament Director of the USTA National Boys’ 16s and 18s Championships since 1993.
Timon played professionally after a successful collegiate career at Kalamazoo College. As an eight-time All-American in singles and doubles with the Kalamazoo men’s tennis team from 1983-86, he led his squad to the 1986 NCAA Division III team championship title while winning the singles crown. That year, Timon was the recipient of the ITA’s National Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. Timon went on to complete a post-graduate fellowship at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn, Germany in 1987 and earned his law degree from the Marquette University Law School in 1992.
