Lew Brewer – Director, Junior Competition

Lew Brewer is the Director, Junior Competition for USTA Player Development.  Prior to this role he served as Administrator, USA Tennis High Performance where he was responsible for the High Performance Program's 100 Competition Training Centers, the selection and training of coaches working at those centers as well as the curriculum used at the Centers.  Brewer also serves as liaison with Miami-Dade County and supervises the public tennis programs at the Crandon Park Tennis Center. In addition, he served for many years as Program Director of the USA Tennis Teachers Conference held during the U.S. Open.

Formerly the USTA's Clinician Service Administrator, Lew has conducted clinics for teachers and players throughout the United States and has appeared at numerous regional, national, and international forums.  He has worked extensively in such diverse countries as El Salvador, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria.  Many of the players he has coached are holders of numerous national and international titles.

He is the author of Professional Tennis Drills, which the New York Book Review has called one of the best books in print.  Brewer is also Past- President of the Greater Miami Tennis Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to making tennis available to disadvantaged young people in Miami-Dade County.
