Nick Saviano Resigns as Director, Coaching Education USA Tennis High Performance Program

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., January 6, 2003 – USTA Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer Rick Ferman today announced the resignation of Nick Saviano, Director, USA Tennis Coaching Education, USA Tennis High Performance.

Saviano has served the USTA in number of executive positions since joining the Association in 1988.

“Nick has made significant contributions to the USTA Player Development and USA Tennis High Performance programs,” said Ferman. “Most recently he successfully launched a formalized coaches’ training program in conjunction with the PTR and USPTA. We are confident Nick will continue to play a significant role in player and coaches development in the future. We will miss him and wish him well.”

“It has been a wonderful 15 years at the USTA with a number of great accomplishments and enduring friendships,” said Saviano. “I look forward to moving into the private coaching sector to continue to contribute to the tennis community.”

The United States Tennis Association is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the United States and is a non-profit organization with more than 660,000 members. It owns and operates the US Open and selects the teams that compete in Davis Cup, Fed Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It invests all its resources to promote and develop the growth of tennis, from the grass roots to the professional levels.
